Arizona Grand Resort Announces New Executive Chef
Renowned Chef James Finney Joins Food & Beverage Team
PHOENIX, Ariz. – (August 31, 2009) – Arizona Grand Resort, a member of the Preferred Hotels® and Resorts Ultimate Luxury Collection, today announced the appointment of its new Executive Chef James Eric Finney.
“Chef Finney has a proven track record of success at fine dining restaurants in luxury hotel settings across the country,” stated Managing Director Richard Behr. “His approach to New American cuisine blends perfectly with our philosophy of weaving fresh produce and natural ingredients from local purveyors into all our dishes.”
Chef Finney will take his post on September 8 to lead the next steps in the ongoing evolution of dining at the resort that began with the opening of the new Lobby Grill in April of 2009. Prior to joining Arizona Grand Resort, Finney served as Executive Chef at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, UT. During his eight years with the Five-Diamond property, he assisted in menu development for all dining venues and oversaw special dinners for President George W. Bush, Vice-President Dick Cheney, John Elway and Muhammad Ali as well as all catering efforts for the 2002 Winter Olympics when the hotel served as the official sponsor hotel. He has worked at several other hotels and resorts prior to the Grand America including the Omni Interlocken Resort, Inverness Hotel & Golf Club and The Resort at Squaw Creek.
Finney graduated with honors from the Western Culinary Institute in Oregon and holds an associate degree from Southern Illinois University.
