We’ll do the hard work for you this month, just kick back and enjoy our “green” treats!

We may have outdone ourselves this month with the Organic Spring-a-rita.  The star in this “green” creation is Thatcher’s Organic Blood Orange artisan liqueur- even the bottle is recycled.  The sweet citrusy- almost raspberry like flavors of the blood orange combine well with natural agave nectar, tequila and organic orange juice in this delectable spring-time treat.  Don’t you just want to sip on this while you are appreciating the Arizona sunset on the patio? Us too!  The Organic Spring-a-rita is available through April in the Lobby Bar for $9, but we know once you get a taste you’ll want more- so here is the recipe to make at home and raise you glass on Earth Day, April 22nd.

Organic Spring-a-Rita

1 oz. Thatcher’s Organic Blood Orange artisan liqueur

¼ oz. Triple Sec

¼ oz. Organic Agave Tequila

2 oz. Sweet and Sour

Organic Orange Juice

Mix a small amount of organic sugar and kosher salt together. Wet rim and dip in sugar and salt mixture. Fill glass with ice, pour in Thatcher’s Organic Blood Orange artisan liqueur, Triple Sec, Tequila, Sweet and Sour and top with fresh squeezed orange juice.  Garnish with a slice of blood orange. Enjoy!

The skin needs some organic love too, so we created a Cooling Cucumber Body Scrub available at the Arizona Grand Spa.  This soothing treatment begins with an allover sugar scrub with Bulalina organic products and finishes with a refreshing honeydew moisturizer, hydrating the skin after all that fun in the sun!  This 50 minute organic treatment is available at the Arizona Grand Spa through April for $115 per person.

We can Keep America Beautiful this month- and enjoy the beauty at the same time.  Be one with nature on our Arizona Grand Golf Course, featuring stunning panoramic views of the surrounding Sonoran desert. This links course has dramatic elevation changes and breathtaking mountain vistas highlight the diverse and challenging par 71 layout. During April, “Earth Month” a round of golf is only $49 per player after 1pm.  Call (602) 431-6480 to book your tee time.

Attention all foodies AZ Wine & Dine is almost here! The annual culinary event hosted by the Arizona Hotel & Lodging Association is taking place on April 12 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Scottsdale Quarter (Scottsdale Road and Greenway) showcasing Arizona’s top restaurants and resort dining from across the valley.  Our very own Executive Chef, Eric Finney will be dishing out a delicious spring fare of grilled watermelon, arugula and goat cheese, a seared crab cake with red pepper aioli and a chocolate banana tower. Chef prides himself on using fresh, organic, locally grown produce at the Lobby Grill and catered events whenever possible and we are so excited that he has been invited to show off his skills with such an elite club! Twenty booths and tasting samples from boutique wineries and microbreweries will be available.  Tickets are available for the AZ Wine & Dine 2012 at AZWineandDine.com, or by calling 602-604-0729.
